On July 23, 2025, the Green Tourism Hub was officially inaugurated at Akaki Tsereteli State University in Georgia, one of the consortium partners of the Erasmus+ Capacity Building in Higher Education (CBHE) project Designing Green Tourism Concept through Learning (ENRICHER hubs).

The newly established hub is designed to serve as a dynamic center for knowledge exchange, training, and coaching in the field of sustainable tourism. It aims to foster the development of innovative green tourism concepts and services that are tailored to the specific needs of the Imereti region. By integrating sustainability principles with entrepreneurial thinking and service design, the hub will support the growth of environmentally responsible tourism practices that also contribute to regional economic development.

The Green Tourism Hub will primarily support students, offering them opportunities to engage in hands-on learning and collaborative projects. However, it is also open to tourism professionals, entrepreneurs, and other interested stakeholders who wish to contribute to or benefit from the hub’s activities.

The opening ceremony brought together a diverse group of regional stakeholders, including representatives from hotels, travel agencies, tourism-related businesses, and public institutions. Their presence underscored the importance of cross-sector collaboration in advancing sustainable tourism and highlighted the hub’s potential as a platform for innovation and regional cooperation.
