The Green Tourism Business Challenge has officially taken place at Moldova State University, bringing together a motivated group of students ready to explore new ideas for sustainable tourism. Through the Green Tourism Hub, participants spent a week immersed in creative learning experiences designed to inspire responsible, future-oriented business solutions for Moldova’s tourism sector.
The program began with an introduction to modern tools and innovative methodologies, encouraging students to rethink traditional tourism models. Early in the week, they met with industry professionals who shared valuable insights into the realities of green tourism. Guided by trainers, participants interviewed experts including representatives from ANTRIM, Mingir Winery, Piligrim Travel Agency, and the Gregory Hotel, gaining firsthand perspectives on sustainability, customer expectations, digital transformation, and emerging business trends.
Midweek, the teams took their research into the field, visiting local tourism sites to observe operations, interact with staff, and better understand the challenges each location faces. These real-world experiences helped them connect classroom learning with practical industry needs.
The challenge concluded with a dynamic final session where students presented the prototypes they developed throughout the week. Their concepts reflected solid knowledge of sustainable tourism and circular economy principles, and the atmosphere was filled with enthusiasm and creativity.
