On December 5, 2025, the KSU Tourism Hub was officially opened at Comrat State University. It was created as part of the international Erasmus+ ENRICHER-hub project “Developing a Green Tourism Concept through Education,” which brought together universities from Georgia, Moldova, Austria, Italy, and Finland.
The event brought together university leadership, faculty, students, representatives of the tourism sector, and regional partners.
The speakers emphasized the importance of developing green tourism for the region and the university’s significant role in promoting sustainable practices and innovation.
The hub’s partnership with local authorities and tourism businesses aims to jointly develop tourism products, organize student internships, and implement joint initiatives to promote the cultural and culinary heritage of Gagauzia.
The project team presented the Hub’s activities:
- Educational trainings on sustainable and green tourism;
- business challenges and student project work;
- support for aspiring entrepreneurs;
- creation of tourist routes and local initiatives.
Particular attention was paid to the Hub’s role as a platform for bringing together experts, local communities, farmers, artisans, and students majoring in Tourism and Hospitality.
The event concluded with a networking meeting, during which participants discussed prospects for cooperation, new ideas for tourism projects, and opportunities for student participation in international Erasmus+ initiatives.
The KDU Tourism Hub will become:
- center of excellence in green and sustainable tourism;
- platform for practical training for students;
- link between the university, businesses, and local communities;
- source of innovation and new tourism products for southern Moldova.
Its opening strengthens KDU’s role as a leading regional university, integrated into the European educational space and actively involved in the development of a green economy.
