In the framework of the ENRICHER project’ dissemination activities in Comrat State University (Republic of Moldova), which aims to develop interdisciplinary education and promote sustainable development principles, a student ecology olympic game was held on April 23, 2026, on the platform of Comrat State University’s green tourism hub. The competition was organized by the university’s Faculty of Agrarian Technology.
Students from various university faculties, including representatives of the Faculty of Economics (specializing in Tourism), as well as students from regional colleges: M. Cakir College and the Agrarian and Technical College (Svetlyi) participated in the activities. The ENRICHER project coordinator from Comrat University, Dr. , Associate Professor Lyudmila Fedotova, presented the project’s main areas and achievements to the participants, emphasizing its importance for the development of interdisciplinary approaches and the integration of sustainable development principles into the educational process.
The Olympic games focused on sustainable development and sustainable tourism. Students not only demonstrated a high level of theoretical knowledge but also actively presented their views on contemporary environmental challenges, proposing ideas and practical solutions for developing various industries in Gagauzia and the Republic of Moldova based on sustainability principles. Specifically, the participants explored opportunities for developing ecotourism, rational use of natural resources, the implementation of green technologies, and enhancing the environmental responsibility of businesses and society.
The participants demonstrated advanced analytical thinking and the ability to apply their knowledge in practical applications to addressing environmental challenges in the region. The activity included several stages: testing and completing practice-oriented assignments, during which students substantiated their proposals and approaches to sustainable development.
The winners were awarded diplomas and commemorative prizes, and all participants received certificates and valuable experience that contributed to their professional and academic development.
Holding such events contributes to the further development of the ENRICHER project’s ideas, strengthening interdisciplinary approaches, and fostering a practical understanding of sustainable development among young people.
